Keeping it Real
We live in a world full of beautiful thought provoking illusions. Every time I turn around there is something more engaging to look at. My thumbs are ten times stronger and my eyes are ten times weaker. Thanks to the editorial looks on social media. It is all an illusion.
When considering a new hairstyle from a fancy edited photo, think about the bigger picture. Is this style really for you? Why do you want this style? Does the model look anything like you? Would this hairstyle look as good if she didn’t have on a full face of makeup? Can you carry this style without the thick false lashes and red matte lip? Is this who you are or is it who you want to be?
Keep it real boo!!! Where are you going with a platinum blonde pixie cut or a high genie ponytail when your edges do not exist? Are you going to be comfortable on that zoom meeting with mullet when you been wearing box braids all season? Are you comfortable shopping in Target with those fifteen swoops of baby hair glued to your forehead?
To keep it real; find beauty in the realness of you.
